Organization Name and Official Status
The Asian- Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN, hereafter "the Federation") is chartered as an international non-profit organization, dedicated to the development and advancement of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology in the region of Asia and Australasia. The Federation was chartered in 1994.

The official language of the Federation is English. The activities of the Federation shall be in accordance with the Constitution. All officers of the Federation shall serve their respective terms without any financial remuneration.
Mission of the Federation
The mission of the Federation is as follows:
  1. To promote all aspects of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology
  2. To coordinate the activities of its members and ensure adequate circulation of documents concerning the Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology discipline throughout Asia and Australasia
  3. To coordinate interdisciplinary relations among Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology and other specialties dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system disorders.
  4. To promote the development of appropriate methods of teaching Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology and to ensure that standards of training and, where applicable, proper certification are obtained and maintained.
  5. To promote research into neurovascular diseases especially for junior INRs and trainees.
The Federation shall:
  1. Hold a scientific meeting every two years. The location of the meeting will be determined in the council constituted by the representative members.
  2. Organize educational courses in Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology.
  3. Organize other meetings, as required, to promote the Federation.
  4. Organize educational awards and scientific prizes to promote its educational and training purposes
  5. Promote and support the edition, publication and distribution of an official journal cooperating the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN) and other educational publications dedicated to the advancement of Interventional Neuroradiology.

15th Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN) Biennial Congress: 13 - 15 October 2023
Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN) was founded in 1994 by Professor Ling Feng. The 5th Congress was held in Hong Kong with the late Prof. John Ching-Kwong Kwok (2002 - Hong Kong). The 15th AAFITN Biennial Congress will be in Hong Kong 13 to 15 October 2023, 21 years after the last.
